#4- “You ain’t no nigga…”
Felipe Coronel, better known by his stage name Immortal Technique, used a verse in one of his songs that went like this:
“… and it’s amazing how they trained them to be racist against themselves in a place they were raised in…”
Immortal Technique has got to be one of my favorite rappers all-time, cuz let’s face face it: this motherfucker spits the truth and he goes down hard. But not only that, but this is some educated rap; his music is like post-colonial literature with a beastly beat. He’s got shades of Brathwraite, Sartre, and Cesaire in his lyrics.
The reason I’m bringing this up is cuz I got on Red Line today and saw one of the more interesting people I’ve ever seen. From my random knowledge, the guy looked liked he suffered from Vitiligo. Vitiligo is a condition that causes the depigmentation of sections of the skin. So looking at this guy, his face looked patchy with the white and black pigment in his skin. Won’t put a photo with this post, so Google it and get an idea of what I mean.
Anyway, so this guy is sitting on the train, and these two other black dudes start talking some shit to each other and bring in the Vitiligio dude into their shit-talking. Let’s just pretend the Vitiligo dude’s name is “Bob”.
So when they were talking smack to this guy, Bob would be saying:
“Shit, nigga, I don’t give a fuck what you think of my life!
“Nigga? Who told you that you could say that shit to US?
“What the fuck you be talking about?”
“You ain’t no nigga, you just a dirty ass white boy who’s momma was playing in the mud too much!”
If you guys are gonna call me out for sounding racist here, please don’t cuz I’m writing what I heard. Writing asterisks everywhere isn’t worth it, so I’m standing ground here.
So Bob and them go into some heated argument, though they do say some pretty funny shit about sandwiches, but they end up just being loud and kind of made the lady sitting next to them cry. It was pretty bad.
But that’s why I thought of that lyric; some people just won’t be accepted by anyone. In colonialism, when a black woman would bear the child of a white man that raped her, the child born was a hybrid that couldn’t be accepted by either the whites or the blacks.
I’m pretty sure I’m looking into this more than I should, but I’m pretty sure that this guy didn’t ask to be born this way. And this is just a prime example of the stuff that goes on during my rides; I get to relate things I studied in college to real life.
Oh, the dude’s face looked pretty fucking wicked, not gonna lie; if he hadn’t opened his mouth, I’d probably be talking about all the other things I saw.

Dropped a bomb of knowledge on you, guys? Sorry, was kind of a long day, it was the only thing I noticed. But chances are, I’ll be writing about my prior experiences on Metro next week since I’ll be kinda busy with school and this Tumblr doesn’t have my old stories.
Lemme know what you think of that idea and of what you thought of this post. Have an update coming up for this blog at the end of next week, so keep posted, yea? Smiley face.
